ABOUT JOHNSON & CO FINE TAILORS
As we move away from the Winter chill and into the blue skies, crisp air and daffodils we enter a more soft and less structured look following the natural curves of the body.

For summer knee length shorts, single breasted lightweight summer coats, cigarette pants and wide leg trousers in cream, oatmeal and biscuit colours in linens, cottons and lightweight wool worsteds will allow for breath-ability and movement.

Drawing from a host of different influences in 2006 we can find the following flavours;

Chica Latina
The Latin American influence will have a casual and loose feel to it featuring tailored shorts with tie belts, pinafore tops and dresses in beautiful browns, beiges, reds and greens. Soft linens, cottons and cashmere will add to the ethnicity of the look.

The uniform and military look

Main features of this styling will be the shorter jacket with sharp tailoring at the waist with large plain or military style buttons. Trousers will tend to be worn on the hip with sharp creases on the leg and slanted pockets. To maximise this look garments should be made in cold greys, steely blues and taupe.

Playful feminine

As we move into a more relaxed environment with the Summer sun, long evenings and plenty of Pimms, the fun, playful feminine side is reflected in long shorts, waistcoats and tunic tops in brushed and lightweight cottons and high twist pure wools worsteds in pale hues and ice-cream pastels.

Femininity is key for 2006 and in general shapes have been softened and colours toned down for a more casual and freeing feeling.

Tight, sassy and sexy

For the women who wants to show her sassy side but wants to stay within the classic and traditional realms of tailoring. Key shapes are tight, narrow and follow the natural curves of the body through skinny tapered trousers, tight fitting waistcoats and slim and pencil skirts.

Words  to keep in mind for Spring / Summer 2006 are: feminine, fun, fluid, soft and free.
